Preparation for the Next Life Reviews

Finally got around to watching this, and I was expecting something serious and slow, but it genuinely felt like I had passed over into the next life with how bone dry it was. The casting is great. Both actors gave awkwardly realistic performances, but I have to say Hechinger is up there as one of my favourite young actors. The narrative juggles several deeply personal issues such as substance abuse, immigration, mental health, the cost of living, and more. Unfortunately, most of it feels surface level, even the romance itself.
