Really bizarre, but I don't mind that. The story is a bit of a mess, so it's one of a few Ghibli movies that I don't see myself rewatching. But it was really hilarious to watch with my little brother, on account of all the, uh, raccoon scrotum stuff.

This one was an interesting one lol. Just to think Isao Takahata released this after GOF makes me laugh. Such a serious heartbreaking movie and then this movie abt silly lil raccoons with their magical nut sacks. It was a bit boring and dragged at times. Overall good message 👍

There were some funny jokes but they were mostly balls jokes. The story was the same thing over and over and felt like all filler with way to long of scenes. The whole thing was a little too weird for me. I could barely make it through it was so boring.

It was an interesting way to spread a message about destroying of our world, but I think the wrong audience was reached. The concept of this movie is so bizarre and it was as if the studio just told them to do whatever the hell they wanted. I am left speechless that this exists.

Really fun movie with a great message. The animation really shines in this movie. I can’t imagine watching this movie with no prior knowledge of what a Tanuki is. There’s a certain attribute of theirs that might throw some people off lol. I felt the ending was a little rushed

I hate how this movie had the potential to be a good film with a good message (talking about the abandonment of traditional identity to embrace a soulless system, etc) but it ruins all with the nutsack references and a poor execution. Also, overall it has a beautiful animation

Third film for my Studio Ghibli class.

The concept of raccoons being able to transform sounded so fun, but then this movie was so unbelievably boring.

The only scene that stood out to me was when they portrayed humans as gods and they were placing down buildings and whatnot, showing how we have too much power and how much deforestation we cause.

I can appreciate the theme of deforestation and how much damage we are doing, however, it was portrayed horribly in this film. There was barely a narrative. It was clearly stated in the beginning, but was barely followed and had really repetitive parts.

I couldn’t connect with the score at all because I couldn’t connect with any of the characters either.

I feel as though I hated this movie because Studio Ghibli has made so much better projects. This one is nothing in comparison.

Funny and clever, definitely deserves more recognition

A little dragged out and silly but the message is there and overall cute entertaining and amazing art and animation as always.
