I expected a standard adventure for Pokémon Day, but this tackles heavy themes like media manipulation and a mother's love.

The Director’s Eye:
Framing this gorgeous Netherlands-inspired architecture gave me fantastic visual inspiration. The story really resonated with my conservative values. The villain is a corrupt mogul using mainstream media to fabricate news and spread fear; exposing him is incredibly satisfying. Plus, Zoroark's maternal instinct to protect her son is a beautiful testament to the family unit.

The Cuts:
The “Time Ripple” mechanics are convoluted. The heavy sci-fi exposition really dragged for me. Also, the early 3D CGI tech looks clunky against the hand-painted backgrounds.

Verdict:
A mature film with a strong message about truth and family. A solid, values-driven watch.

Favorite Line: I guess there isn't much time left for me...”

6.6/10 - big celebi !!

Literally one of my favorite Pokémon movies, with the sadness of Zorua being separated from her mom, meanwhile Zoroark thinking that her daughter was being abused. Not to mention how cool the legendary dogs (suicune, entei, and raikou) were in it, and how silly zorua could be.
