8.1/10 - i really didn’t wanna watch the same origin story for the 20th time, but this was actually really good. probably some of the best writing in the franchise.

It was pretty good, with the most memorable bit being the end when Ash forces pikachu into his pokeball, and takes the hit, turning into stone to save pikachu.

the story is like a remake with better animation and two new friends instead of brock and misty. Ash becomes the rainbow hero by getting a rainbow feather from hoho. At last Ash will die and come back to life with the help of bond between ash and Pikachu. Ash will battle Hoho too

A nice retelling of an og plot point.

Why does this movie make me cry everytime I watch it? It’s actually traumatising to have to watch Pikachu sob due to the death of Ash. It’s actually a really good movie though and it’s a really cool idea to go back to the start of the original series.

The animation… the childhood memories it’s so good.
