It has a gut punch ending and a decent ominous buildup. Watching the sadistic actions get worse and worse was effective. However this movie needed to either be purely a look into the true crime case, or use fiction to discuss juvenile violence. Doing both was a mistake.

To say this a good movie and very effective is one thing. To say you liked it is another. It’s disturbing and unsettling and you have to admire the filmmaker’s restraint with the finale. It’s not for everyone, but deserves a watch.
