Best Picture Oscar winner 1987 (59th Academy Awards)
My Rating: 8.5/10
Nominated for 8 Oscar’s and won 4. One of the best war films of all time. Oliver Stone was a Vietnam vet and the realism of this film is too much sometimes and has a lot of trigger warnings throughout. Well done film.

What more is there to say about this than has already been said? It is the quintessential Vietnam war film. War is hell, and this doesn’t shy away from that sentiment. Character work is compelling as well. Shows the depths humans can go to when pushed to the brink.
