Planet of the Apes
Tim Burton’s reimagining of the Planet of the Apes is simultaneously very smart and very dumb. The great moments are really great and then there’s Mark Wahlberg having sexual tension with an actual ape. The make-up and practical effects are fantastic. The all star cast has some great performances, I really love Paul Giamatti as Limbo personally and Helena Bonham Carter kills any role she is in. With that being said I do feel that some moments can come off as weird or corny. Overall a solid action film good for casual viewing. 5.5/10
