It's really emotional. The fact that it's based on an real life event and that there are still "shamed" mothers looking for their children is genuinely heartbreaking. Although I do believe, perhaps there are things in this move that I don't know of or understand just yet...

such a great movie

Brilliant and poignant storytelling. Incredible performances from Dench and Coogan. It explores powerful themes of resilience and forgiveness, all surrounding a true story and the horrors of the Catholic Church. If you ask me this is a must watch.

Sad, true, story, beautifully told. I did not know Philomenas story but it really shows the reality behind the convent in Ireland during the 20tg century and the pain some girls had to go through.

Emotional

Had me cryinggg. Heartbreaking story portrayed by the best. Pacing was inconsistent and other characters seemed merely thrown in to keep story along. No other attachments. Throughly enjoyed the telling of this true story.
