Defínete aged well after all these years, this was a movie a saw as a child but I watched many black movies I wanted to watch it now this new eyes and it was extremely funny ofc starring Monique but it was also inspiring and a refreshing romance story!!

Love how this leans entirely into self-love and body positivity. Mo'Nique brings a great deal of charisma and unapologetic confidence to the lead role. It is a hilarious, lighthearted reminder to take up space and be proud of exactly who you are.

The only thing I liked were the roasts and jokes in this movie

this movie perfectly sums up what its like to grow up fat, having to build a tough persona only to fall apart once that shell is removed

truly is up to you to either learn and thrive like Jasmine or build a new, harder shell - i choose to learn

Haven’t watched this movie in years not sure how well it aged with a fact that we are more body positivity in this was clearly embracing big women, but in a joking way, so I’m not quite sure where we’ve landed if this is an appropriate movie for people to watch in 2024.

classic 2000s film, loved it

It was like good and Jazmin was so real about thirsting over those guys and body issues but also it wasn’t like mind blowing

10/10 when I first watched this I wasn’t even bothered by the quality of the movie. The message behind it was beautiful, it’s such a funny comforting movie. My grandpa was singing “you are my African queen” the whole weekend 😂😂
