People We Meet on Vacation

i was fucking with the beginning HARD like college them and the canada trip was so
fucking cute but the third part was kinda underwhelming .

if it was me and were grown btw. we’re both single and want each other. well fuck we’re boning like what took them so long. i understand that he values stability and that was something she wasn’t ready to adopt yet. but girl are you deadass. like just talk it out and she was real for wanting to take a sec before talking abt the entirety of their relationship.

his high school gf is so much better than me. cause wtf do you mean your girl best friend and you go on a vacation every single year together ALONE. mind you you don’t even take me on vacation.

canada was so cute and i loved the dancing scene. unfortunately he would’ve pulled me. i don’t even think that he’s bad. but he has a charm abt him. and i love a jokingly grouchy man. like he can have fun but he’s gonna pretend like he doesn’t want to first. and that’s real

I had a great time watching and honestly was wondering how they were going to tackle all the jumping that the book does but I think they did a pretty good job. Canada and NOLA were highlights. Obviously there’s stuff going to be cut to make it flow. Can say that the “this summer” timeline wasn’t necessarily my favorite because of its differences and some of the stuff in the book NEEDED to be there to build up the present timeline imo. Alex’s timeline w Sarah being sped up to the point that he actually proposes messes w me and his big speech before the balcony was one of my favorite parts in the book. When he tells her that he’s always remembered everything from their trips 🥹 him leaving his own brothers wedding feels a bit wrong but tan suit Tom Blyth is a nice sight I’ll say that
Edit: thinking about it later I realize that I think my problem is with the fact that the movie made Sarah a part of Alex’s life BEFORE he met Poppy.. that makes the whole thing feel a lot worse to me than him meeting Sarah while in college after he was already friends w Poppy

i will give it a like, but it was actually a solid 8/10, this move feels like a cousin to the book, loved poppy’s character being portrayed liked this, emily excelled.

started out entertaining but the writing & their chemistry just fucking suuuucked. Alex was boring as fuck, Poppy carried the whole goddamn movie until the emotional parts, then everything just fell so fucking flat. i love cheesy romcoms but this one wasted my time so i’m pissed
