All the Cary Grant films I’ve watched so far I haven’t liked but I enjoyed this one. I think it’s because he’s more so the secondary actor in this film.

A woman’s reflection of the sections of her and her husband’s relationship through her listening ti the music that accompanied the milestones in their relationship. One of the “life” movies that fluctuates between comedy and drama so well.

If this movie were made today, it would rival the likes of My Blue Valentine and Manchester By the Sea. A love story wrought with tragedy and grief. A likable couple cursed to endure heartache after heartache. A golden aged heartbreaker.

This was actually more depressing than I thought it would be :(

Cary Grant + Irene Dunne = perfection, but oh, how this one hurt me 🥺
