Really liked this one actually. Justin Timberlake played this role better than what I expected from him. Liked the way the characters evolvement were showed. And a beautiful ending. Would recommend. 8,4/10.

Palmer is a quiet, grounded drama that doesn’t try to impress, but slowly earns your attention. Justin Timberlake plays Eddie Palmer, a former football star returning to his small Louisiana town after prison. He’s emotionally shut down, rough, and clearly not great with people. Especially kids.

That changes when he starts caring for Sam, a boy who doesn’t fit the town’s rigid ideas of masculinity. The film’s biggest strength is how natural this relationship feels — no forced speeches, no moral hammer. It simply shows how empathy grows when judgment steps aside.

Timberlake delivers a restrained, believable performance, but Ryder Allen as Sam completely steals the movie with his warmth and authenticity. Yes, the story is predictable, and yes, it plays things safe — but it’s also sincere, gentle, and emotionally honest. Palmer doesn’t shout its message. It lets it sink in.
