this was good ngl entertaining enough to keep me watching but yeah, the historical accuracy was hanging on by a thread. i googled after and apparently the main characters were real historical figures but the movie was definitely sprinkling that Bollywood fairy dust all over the story

some parts were cliché too, your usual “queen + king = pure love and honor” moments but i ate up every scene with Padmavati and Ratan Singh. they were so cute, had that royal romance glow… until i looked it up and found out he had FIFTEEN queens irl 🙃 very romantic

also Mehrunissa was done so dirty smh her dad got killed by her husband for the throne, then she got thrown in prison by the same man for helping the Rajputs escape like?? she was literally the biggest victim in the whole film

historical or not, it was still a fun watch, just know you’re getting drama first, history second
