one of the most realistic portrayals of depression that i have ever seen in film. incredibly powerful, every scene and conversation is handled with truth and care while every shot is just gorgeous. wonderful writing, acting, directing, and cinematography; packs a punch

Ending was pretty unexpected for me, I was convinced it was going to go one way before flipping that on its head.

Joachim Trier has a wonderfully fucked up talent for the most depressing character studies. Seamlessly making you care for these characters and then putting them on the most devastating journeys possible. This is his most focused narrative, taking place, primarily, over the course of a single day - and following his encounters for that period.

Anders Danielsen Lie is quietly one of the best actors working, he shows zero interest in being “big-time”, just working with Trier at every chance and dipping out occasionally to work with others, whilst also delivering next-level work there too. Renate Reinsve makes a little cameo-esque part here, laying the groundworks for her breakout in Trier’s next effort, one of my all-time favourite films - The Worst Person in the World.

Great film from Trier, had a wonderful time with this despite the story - it really makes you feel and learn to appreciate.

The 2nd film in Joachim Trier's Oslo trilogy. A very difficult film in terms of subject matter, but beautifully filmed with some truly great performances.

Life through the eyes of someone who is desperately trying to give it another go. I almost end up agreeing with him.
