a masterpiece.. most realistic portrayal of depression i’ve ever seen especially in terms of what it’s like when the people around you are as lost in the situation as you are. this movie came to me at the exact right time i needed it

This was an alright film, it was a sorrowful story acted very well. Another story showing how loss can affect people and their lives. It was a great take on this but I have seen so many like this and better ones now. Though I would still recommend it as a good watch

This main character guy doesn’t act well enough to be able to get into the sadness of the plot. Can’t take him seriously. An alright movie.

Won 4 Academy awards. Everyone was superb in this. Timothy Hutton deserved all the accolades for his role as Conrad Jarrett. Robert Redford directed a beautifully painful movie

Brutal all the way up to the end but very well done. Would recommend if you are looking to feel your feelings.

okay, WOW. I've never seen a movie reflect my relationship with, and between, my parents better. Canon in D being the credit song made it hit even harder since I played it a previous year for my freshman year of high school with the orchestra.

I love when men are emotional and I love Donald Sutherland

THE BEAT MOVIE EVER!!! It is a very deep and meaningful movie, that is very well written and has amazing acting.

Great film I watched in the 80’s as a kid. I’m
an only child so this gave me an insight into the relationship of siblings. I’ve two sons now, 11 months apart and I watched this again and it hit me even harder thinking about the outcome if I lost my oldest son. Wrenching

A real gut punch of a movie, however I be believe I have seen more recent movies do what it does better. Manchester by the Sea and Good Will Hunting feel heavily inspired by this, but I think both are better movies

The acting in this movie is incredible. I can understand why this movie received an Oscar. 8.5/10
