One Cut of the Dead Reviews

Don’t read the synopsis, don’t watch the trailer, just watch it. After you make it through the first 30 which won’t make much sense, it eventually provides the ultimate payoff. Brilliant, hilarious, and unique. Can’t stop thinking about this one! H/T @remembersteven for the rec

if you don't love me at my [0:00 – 37:06] then you don't deserve me at my [37:07 – 1:35:48]

Go into this one completely blind, and don’t let the quirky opening fool you. I guarantee you’ll be pleasantly surprised once you discover the reason behind it. Such a creative premise, and the execution was incredibly clever.

I almost turned this off. The opening is terrible. But you find out it’s mean to be. When you get to the story behind it and the execution of it the movie suddenly becomes very clever. Let me tell you though. Not knowing that. First 30 min rough ride. Came close twice to shutoff

Really cool idea. Let it play out.

Got better as it went along. The humor got me a couple times. I appreciate the concept, but it didn’t come together in a satisfying enough way.

Well this sure is unique. The first full 35 mins are intentionally some of the worst filmmaking you’ll ever see, recontextualizing that in the second half with the indie filmmaking explanation allows for some fun hijinx. However, as a whole it didn’t work for me

I think the movie does a fine job with what it tries to do. It’s just I feel like I’m in the vast minority when I say the first 30 minutes is super charming. I find the idea of doing a film like this in one cut more interesting than the characters doing the movie in one cut.

nur Liebe

really threw me off with how well made and funny this film is, obviously the first part is confusingly bad but seeing how everything came to be was great

I like the idea but this is nottt as great as people say it is.

A real hidden gem of a movie. You can feel the love and passion for the horror genre as a whole poured into every ounce of this movie.

10/10 one of the best movies I have ever watched

hit

hilarious. no notes

HILARIOUS. Ugh just so good. Believe everyone else, trust the process!

What the fuck

watched this without any context of what it’s about, and i want to say it’s worth it! you might think it’s boring halfway through, but i swear it gets better and you’ll be amazed! so glad i watched thisss

This movie was so so overhyped. Boring and drawn out. The kills weren’t worth the length.
