Once Upon a Time in America

I finally plucked up the courage and watched Once Upon a Time in America. The soundtracks are great and the movie is about the grand illusion of the American Dream. I could sum this movie up as a mix between The Untouchables and The Godfather.

It’s good but complicated emotions around the protagonist. Unlikely to watch again tho tbh

I should have noticed it was 4h long before I committed to watching this movie.. but it was worth it! A bit rapey.. but overall the story is told in an interesting way, and the way it’s filmed and scored is quite beautiful. Just very, very long…

WORTH THE TIME. We saw the extended cut and some things were a little confusing but it’s a great and compelling story with all the complexities of an unconventional life in a time without many rules and too much need.

Loistavat musiikit, upeat näyttelijät, mutta aivan surkean epärealistinen ihmiskäsitys käsikirjoituksessa. Vihasin kaikkia hahmoja. Se mikä onnistui ja samalla vei pois luotaan oli että kaikki hahmot olivat raiskaajia, roistoja anti-hyviksiä 7/10
