OMG: Oh My God!
Rating: 7.2/10 ⭐️
I expected a goofy comedy about suing the universe, but got a sharp critique on how corrupt institutions exploit faith for profit.
What Worked:
The camera contrasts working-class Mumbai with wealthy ashrams perfectly. Through my faith-based lens, I really loved the core message. It champions a true, personal relationship with the Creator over greedy, man-made religious institutions. Paresh Rawal is brilliant, and Akshay Kumar brings a super calm, comforting energy to his role.
The Cuts:
The repetitive courtroom arguments meant the middle part really dragged for me while I waited for the verdict. The dated VFX (especially the rubbery opening earthquake) pulled me right out of the illusion. Also, it leans way too hard into preachy monologues at the end, basically halting the plot to just deliver a heavy-handed sermon.
Verdict:
A thought-provoking satire championing genuine faith over corrupt religious businesses. A fantastic weekend watch!
Favorite Line: “Faith should come from within.”

OMG: Oh My God!
Not the kind of social commentary I like. People will judge me obviously.
