There’s no more slow burn in romance movies is there…
I feel like it tried to be 2 diff things at once:
1) A film that’s a little ridiculous & doesn’t take itself seriously 2) a serious movie w an actual business plotIdk if I explained my thoughts correctly but it didn’t work imo

Tried to watch - language way too bad

Put this one off indefinitely after the poor reviews, but after scrolling Netflix for what felt like hours, parents were dead set on this, so…

I’m kinda glad they did! It’s not amazing, in fact a lot of it is pretty terrible. But most of it is a good bit of fun, it’s sweet, predictable and safe - it’s all okay! There’s not much to say beyond what you see on the tin, there’s nothing shocking or unexpected, just your run of the mill romcom.

Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein have some great chemistry, they’re both great actors, and this is frankly below them - but in that, they both do well. Jodie Whittaker was an unexpected show-up, but she was seriously funny in her small role.

Office Romance doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it also doesn’t show any interest in doing so. It’s here to serve a purpose of being a crowd pleaser, and that’s what it does.
