THE MOVIE WAS REALLY GOOD BUT THE ENDING WAS SO BULLSHIT

A great movie. This movie was influential at the time. As it was the first mainstream horror movie w the first African American to have a lead role thanks to Duane Jones. 100% worth the time not only for the movie itself but the influence it outside the screen

even though i thought i wasn’t going to like this at first, it was pretty good considering the time period and i love the fact they had a black actor as the lead, it’s also pretty cool to see how far we’ve come in terms of scary movies

this movie holds up so well. a must see just for the fact that this is the first film to depict zombies as they are portrayed as today. THEN for there to also be an African American male lead, nonetheless as the hero?!?! awesome movie!!

didn't expect to enjoy this but it was great. i love the social tension and racial injustice themes it broaches on. bunch of the twists were predictable but some stuff i anxiously expected never happened. the film unequivocally has a legacy. overall, had fun watching it w my dad.

Kind of overrated. I appreciate the influence it had on all the sci-fi and horror films that came in the following decades, and the whole "Black" lead role thing. Saw the ending "twist" a mile away.
The choreography could've been waaay better too. Alright as a whole.

It was actually really good! The ending made me sad but it was a really good story and I can see why it helped establish the modern day zombie idea that we all know

Amazing film honestly blew me away on how good it was. Especially the ending, it was one you don’t rlly see nowadays. I love the risk and unpredictability of it too. Crazyy film 10/10

With a great plot, very realistic makeup, and an awesome climax and ending, It's easy to tell why it's one of the most influential horror films of all time. 8/10

That ending has me so fucked up omg

The real horror is being stuck in a house with a bunch of useless, dumbass, selfish white people.

I genuinely couldn’t name one thing I liked about it, I know I don’t like much horror but this is a different case entirely. would say I disliked it in any other case but I guess it was pretty inspirational to certain projects so I can’t really say I hate it

It may be crazy influential, but it's not for me. The ultra-low budget makes everything feel unconvincing. The acting is mediocre at best & even the sound design has annoying quirks. It’s eerie, but I never felt a real sense of danger. Ending & credits are harrowing though.

Woman paralyzed by fear uselessly sits by while everyone argues and fights for their lives.

9/10 classic.

Enjoyable movie.

Couldn't ask for a better ending.

Coming into this film extremely blind was one of the most fascinating approaches I have taken with a zombie film in a good long while and my reaction to it was somewhat the same to 28 days later in how its presence essentially changed how the viewers of its time reacted to the genre.

I will admit that when it comes to zombie films, there is a lot that can leave you unhappy but I guess there is a lot that will leave you satisfied, I’m kind of in the middle ground with this one

Used to always watch this growing up, such a classic zombie movie.

Re watch.
