New Dimension! Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Battle of Supernatural Powers ~Flying Sushi~

A simple, cute, hilarious, and at times touching adventure of Crayon Shin-Chan. I still don’t see why this has to be CG tho as I’m a huge fan of the original 2D version. You can see them trying their best at translating the 2D style, and they’re mostly alright but falls short at times.
The plot itself is surprisingly wholesome and touches upon some serious social issues while staying light and positive for it’s target audience. I love the part where Shin-chan pretty much time travels and becomes the villain’s childhood best friend. It also felt like a meta commentary on how Shin-chan was there for a lot of us. That whole trip down the memory lane is probably my favorite part of the film. It’s gentle. We need that gentleness sometimes.
