Never Let Me Go

the whole “what makes us human” trope/ justification of humanity in dystopian media is pretty cliche, but this movie does a beautiful job with its interpretation. what i think makes this movie so interesting, is that rather having kathy & tommy combat their demise, they end up 1)

I really wished they would run off together or beat the system or even unalive themselves together but it was beautiful they did love each other all along

if you read the book, you will probably get a little bit annoyed that some bits doesn’t fit and is different and the actors isn’t how you imagine them in the book. I also feel like it’s all a little bit rushed together to.

The truth, when revealed, was so simple, which is why it hurts so much more. There are no sci-fi dystopian cliches, just brutal realism and how lost we often feel in this world. It’s hollow, it’s cruel, it’s love, it’s human.
This film captured my heart and emptied my soul.

Amazing concept that will rip your heart out.

What an absolutely wonderful adaptation of an original, powerful examination of life and love. The three leads are phenomenal and the result is worthy of the Kazuo Ishiguro-written source material. Also, shoutout to Rachel Portman and her excellent score, because the music elevates this film to another level entirely.
