For me a bit too messy. Felt like getting thrown into an already developing story without ever even getting enough elements to form an idea of how the world is built. Maybe not a MUST watch if not for someone who likes Cronenberg, but i'd say is worth watching at least once

Layers that unfold but also become more layers that creates multiple selves and realities, you kinda just have to watch to see what I mean

Hate to say it but this was way better than the book. Cronenberg was really the perfect director for a Burroughs novel. I adore the nasty sentient typewriter guys and I think making it a mash up of multiple of his books plus sorta his real life was a lot better than trying to pull a cohesive plot out of whatever the hell the naked lunch book was. Everybody was mumbling all the time like SPEAK UP girl, but it was still great fun great great. I’m literally booking my ticket to interzone right now what that hell.

Weird movie that isn't for everyone. It can be confusing because it count a real story mixed with allucinations that had the writter of the original book Naked Lunch. The body horror and make up are all right but you must be brave and patient to understand the movie...
