Why does it say this was made in 2011 River phoenix had been dead for 18 years by then

“i don’t think two men can fall in love” // “i love you and you don’t pay me” — the absolute rage i felt at the end of the movie towards scott when he rejected bob but also when he left mike in rome,,, like BRUH. he was so manipulative this whole movie just waiting until he turned 21/the death of his father to get in his inheritance and then turn his back on the community that welcomed him. and mike deserved better he was just so kind this whole movie and his best friend just used his whole sexuality to profit and then told him that he couldn’t actually fall in love

didn’t understand the whole purpose of the movie, but still a great entertainment, would have probably been better if the relation between scott and mike was more exploited

honestly I really could have done without a lot of the Shakespeare stuff. I think about half of this movie was super interesting and had a lot of unique shots/ideas. the plot Mirroring Henry the IV is cool, but the random Shakespeare dialogue really brings down half of the movie.

It was an interesting movie to say the least and the way it was made was also pretty unique.
I don’t really have many thoughts on this movie but I think the acting was great and the actors did an amazing job.
The movie was also kinda sad and I wished it would’ve explored more of Scott and Mike.
The movie didn’t really have a deep meaning behind it or if it did I didn’t really get it but I mean it’s a solid movie with a good cinematography
