My Favourite Cake
Funny, poignant, sweet, and utterly heartbreaking, all in one short film. It is both a gentle slice of life movie about loneliness in old age and simultaneously exemplifies the realities of living under Iran’s oppressive regime. A really well done film.

My Favourite Cake
This was one of the most unique Iranian films I’ve ever seen. It was incredibly simple, yet deeply moving. The film beautifully captures the loneliness many elderly people experience, along with their deep need for love and care.

My Favourite Cake
My Favourite Cake is a poignant and gently subversive Iranian masterpiece that I thoroughly enjoyed. The film follows Mahin, a 70-year-old widow in Tehran, who seeks to rekindle the freedoms of her youth by embracing new connections.
