This movie was so AWESOME! The animation was peak, and the gore and blood and violence was amazing! I really enjoyed the x-ray kill shots, too, those were sick!

Essentially a seamless blend of the original movie and the recent live-action reboot, but way gorier in the various fight sequences and uses of the video game x-ray. Scorpion is straight up Kratos here! Also best depiction of cocky Johnny Cage. Top tier MK film.

I expected a standard adaptation, but the brutal, emotional weight of the opening scenes totally blew me away.

What Worked:
Spaulding’s blocking and Studio Mir’s fluid animation give the hyper-violent choreography a raw, tactile weight. As a lore deep-diver, I loved how the film handled Hanzo’s origin with “show, don’t tell” visual storytelling, giving his revenge arc a grounded emotional core. Ehrenreich’s editing and the heavy score also give the combat a super dynamic flow.

The Cuts:
The dual-narrative really dragged for me; splitting focus between Scorpion’s revenge and the tournament makes the flow super choppy. Going from dark samurai tragedy to goofy Hollywood slapstick feels inconsistent to me as well. Plus, keeping it spoiler-free, the B-plot crams in too many characters, leaving secondary emotional beats feeling totally rushed.

Verdict:
A striking, hyper-violent adaptation. Perfect for bloody action and deep lore, but skip if you need a seamlessly paced narrative.

🐐 MOTHERFUCKING SCORPION 🐐

As an origin-driven story, it follows familiar beats. Scorpion’s tragedy is well-known, & the tournament structure rarely surprises. Fight choreography is sharp, the tone unapologetically brutal, and the lore feels respected.

Great animated movie. Best Mortal Kombat movie since the 1995 one.

This was the best out the MKL movies, a major return to form, what we alwys loved about Mortal Kombat. Animated by Studio Mir(Lengend of Korra) Giving Scorpion the 1st animated movie was a nice touch 8/10 Voice Acting/ Animation/ Fight Sequences/ Nostalgia

Really good concept MK has going on. Really should continue this line of product. This one in particular caught my interest a lot. Enjoyed how they mixed MK game related things towards this add on
