Call me sadistic, but this is the type of gore I live for. Make sure you watch with your youngest children to ensure expedited maturation.

While far from perfect, Mortal Kombat is still bloody fun, with a solid attempt at adapting the game's insane world. A flawless victory but it’s also not a fatality.

I appreciate the fact that it's rated R. This movie commits the cardinal sin of centering it around a totally made up character. Why do that when Mortal Kombat has such a huge roster? The shining part was some of the design of characters like Kabal. Overall frustrating.

Mortal Kombat is a violent, action-heavy movie with strong fight scenes and game-style fatalities. The visuals and combat are fun, but the story and characters are pretty basic. Best enjoyed if you’re a fan of the games and just want nonstop action.
