I somewhat enjoyed the first, but this is better in almost every way possible. Peak casting, insanely good visuals, exhilarating stunts, well-choreographed fights, and an engaging story. The tone all around was perfect, and the emotional cues actually worked. It's been a while since I've played the game, but in my eyes, this does it justice. I loved the tournaments and references. I figured it would be predictable after watching the first. However, there were a couple of times when I was genuinely thrown off. I need number 3 pronto.

It was ok, I guess. Excruciatingly bland to the point of being boring had it not been for the action. The story is a blatant smooth brain operation with little to really show for, at least the first film tried something and actually gave unique action, cannot say the same for the sequel. It follows the pace of a MK game storyline which is to say it is entirely random fights happening while a loose story is told in little cutscenes between the fights, it legitimately felt like watching a let’s play. The fights were also dwarfed by the choreography the former film carried, way too many instances of blurry CGI and fantastical flipping through the air just bogged down the excitement. You can turn your brain off and still end up rolling your eyes, it’s just that painfully muted. Say what you will about the OC but idk his treatment felt as disrespectful as it did forced, but the other characters mostly sucked, just not enough to add whatsoever. So yes, it’s ok, but it isn’t good. 2.5/5

I had a damn good time - silly & fun with lots of Easter eggs & callbacks.

Stellar? No.
Fun? Absolutely!

On par with the first one. No improvements but it wasn’t worse. Some green screen issues and not great CGI. Kinda a weak story and acting. But heck, the action and humor keep this enjoyable!

Mortal Kombat II is a brutal and action-packed sequel that delivers exactly what fans expect: intense fights, bloody fatalities, and iconic characters.

Although I actually liked the first movie, this was in every way a huge improvement, story, characters, fighting, the list goes on for why this movie fucking slaps!

If you like Mortal Kombat, you’ll love this movie, but if you just like action and fights then you’ll also fucking love this movie, it’s just non stop fighting with some of the best visuals, cinematography and choreography I’ve ever seen.

Don’t let the first movie hinder you from seeing this, it’s definitely worth your time, and I can’t wait to see more in the future!

Great if you love the game and the previous movies

I dont think this shouldve been a movie to begin with. Everything felt so rushed, And for the love of Earthrealm, WHY did lord raiden sounded like he was recording his lines through a broken radio speaker.
This feels like something that shouldv stayed aa game and no more.

Really fun fight sequences. Very goofy though, it was like if they made a MK game into a movie.

I liked John’s cage but everything felt super rushed. They pretty much did a speed run on JC. Almost felt like they should have done a tv series instead of a movie. A lot of new characters with no backstory or introduction. I liked it but it could have been so much better

Sorry to the ones who liked the OC but it’s so much better without him. This dragged on for far less and introduced the pivotal character Johnny Cage for the next movie. The kills were great tbh and the fight scenes were really innovating as in, not all is from the games.

„Rise of Skywalker“ type of movie. I definitely liked the prequel more, but this one was valid too. It had much plot holes, but its just so cool. The fight scenes are nearly as peak as in the first movie. Enjoyed it a lot and would say its a must watch for all mortal kombat fans

Mortal Kombat II still succeeds in churning out a movie faithful to the spirit of its source material. It is not a universal cup of tea, but its core target audience might be satisfied before returning to play the game.

8/10 surprisingly really good Karl Urban American accent was hilarious
