Monster in the Family: The Stacey Kananen Story Reviews

This wasn’t my favorite Lifetime movie, by far! The real story it’s based on is truly horrific, which makes it all the more heartbreaking. Knowing that Stacey Kananen is a survivor of severe abuse and unimaginable family trauma adds emotional weight to the film, and that truth is honestly more powerful than the movie itself ended up being. The acting was just par for me, and I had hoped for more, especially with Elisha Cuthbert returning in her first movie in quite a long time. I really wanted this one to be better. More than anything, I hope Stacey Kananen has found peace, healing, and a better life after everything she endured.
