This is one of Charlie Chaplin's most important works, if not the most important. Because of this movie, Charlie was pursued until he fled outside America, he also predicted World War III three years before it happened, I recommend it. 🎩🪄

my first charlie chaplin film, a masterful blend of silent and “talkie” era elements that combine to create a truly innovative and engrossing comedy with tons of wit and charm. perfectly shot and acted with an impressive variety of set pieces and jokes, feels modern enough

I enjoyed my time, didn’t laugh as much as other Charlie Chaplin films. The factory scenes were good and the song at the end OH LORDY LORD perfect

I still prefer City Lights, but this isn't far off. I laughed quite a bit, and the addition of Paulette Goddard was great too. Charlie Chaplin, of course, nails the slapstick comedy and ends on a wholesome note.

Nice comedic film about the great depression during the 1920s, not very focused on the informative side but still very funny and touches on the struggles at the time here and there. I also love Chaplin’s character and his attitude, it’s so chaotic.

Actually a very fun watch, which is saying something bc it’s nearly a century old. Super charming semi silent film. I wouldn’t say this movie was ahead of its time, but it definitely holds up very well.
