Mission: Impossible - Fallout
A pretty near perfect action movie in my opinion. Just the right amount of over the top plot, action, and stakes. Makes it 10x better that the stunts are actually Tom. Plus, Paris helps.

9.3 - I don’t think these can get better than this.
This was awesome. Action movies that are action movies just to be action movies have never been close to my favorite genre. But it’s hard to beat a true thriller like this.
The action is the best of the series. The stunts are awesome. The car chase is almost as good as the one in MI:5, the parkour sequence through London is heart pounding, & the helicopter chase literally against the clock is maybe my favorite sequence of the series. Oh, & finally some awesome & believeable hand to hand combat!
It builds on a base of the best duo in Cruise & Ferguson, brings beautiful closure to the Julia storyline, & introduces a top tier bad guy from Cavill (especially when paired with round two of Sean Harris’s Lane).
My only real complaint (if you even want to call it that) is how early we got that reveal. It felt like a huge moment and it was just a little too telegraphed & confirmed a little too early, but it’s easy to move past when the second half of the movie is epic chase after epic chase.
Of all the action movies I’ve seen, this is one of the best. This series as a whole is a bit goofy at times, & wildly inconsistent tonally. It’s not a series that makes you think much at all, & sometimes I wish it had a little more of that, but this entry strikes the best balance between all of those elements of humor & camp & suspense & action.
I’m actually nervous for how these final two might fall off.

The seventh one in the series: This is easily one of the best ones, higher stakes, wittier humour and twist after twist

Mission: Impossible - Fallout
Rewatching Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018) today, and honestly, it hits way differently the second time around. I already dropped a super detailed review back in May 2025, but taking another look really got me noticing fresh details.
The sheer scale of the practical stunts and the dynamic between Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill is just incredibly intense. The way the camera framing keeps everything feeling super grounded and tactile is amazing. Watching a hero who absolutely refuses to compromise his morals (choosing to protect the one life just as fiercely as the millions) is honestly pretty inspiring. It captures that desperate, messy need to do the right thing, even when the world is completely falling apart around you and telling you to just take the easy way out.
The insane set pieces and the gritty pacing still hold up super well, making the whole movie feel totally relentless. It’s a completely solid watch, but the immense physical toll and practical commitment it took to capture this on camera is what really stuck with me this time. It definitely leaves you thinking about the heavy cost of uncompromising loyalty.
