First watch:Creepy but I liked it.
Second : Just a stupid slasher movie.
Third: Misery’s a commentary on the dangers of fanaticism.
Fourth:Annie Wilkes is just a lonely woman looking for companionship, who can blame her?
Fifth: A RomCom about an aspiring writer and protective gf

I remember my big sister had this downloaded on her laptop when I was little, and I kept watching it over and over.
Even tho I got scared each time, I kept re-traumatizing myself.
Incredible acting especially from Kathy, loved her mental ups and downs and the way she shifts into-

🟤I just love the character of Annie Wilkes. The CocaCola-drinking, dating show watching, corny furnishings-loving, ex-nurse psychopath living on her own in the woods just gives my horror loving heart joy. She really is simple and true to life, but also so out there and camp.⚪

Hits so much harder when you know nothing other than Kathy Bates going nuts, and playing it with an unhinged amount of uncertainty. Stephen King stories are always submerged in hyper-realistic themes and are told very erratically. It's like being on Twitter for an hour half. A creator's possession and a fan obsession. Bathed in what you think is safety and security, only to slowly realise it's the hot spot of misconduct and misery. James Caan plays the perfect amount of survival to sane. It can be a little silly in parts but overall, it drops doses of reality that play as evidence to a true story.

when I first watched it as a kid, it got me stressed out like nothing else... now I rewatched it and let me tell ya, it still has its charms. (Kathy Bates never fails)

7/10 An obsessed fan saving their favourite author from a snow storm car accident ends in misery. Great acting although “Bates” provides that extra something as always. Recommend.
