I needed a lighthearted, breezy animated movie to just unwind for the weekend. I honestly like this goofy prequel; it brings silly slapstick laughs despite a thin storyline.

What Worked:
• Coffin’s voice work and gibberish are pure comedic gold.
• The 1960s London/NY aesthetic looks super cool and stylish.
• Bullock brings super fun, flashy energy to Scarlet Overkill.

The Friction:
• The London dungeon section really dragged for me when I just wanted them causing chaos.
• Without Gru, the story honestly felt aimless; they really work better as sidekicks.

Verdict:
Watch for a breezy, lighthearted comedy. Skip if non-stop gibberish annoys you.
