me and my bro watched this movie in high school and then went into separate rooms and cried uncontrollably with a hopeless and exhausted air about us for upwards of half an hour

I didn’t know about his story until I watched this movie. As someone from the LGBTQ+ community, I appreciate watching this guy’s story and seeing how unfair things were for us, and as someone young who wants to become a politician, this is inspiring to my future dreams.

Powerful and beautiful tribute to the gay rights movement. Keeps momentum throughout a timespan of eight years, vibrant culture, and a determined people. Sean Penn was absolutely phenomenal as Milk, bringing so much humanity to the role. One of the best biopics of its era.
