so cringe it’s painful

A masterclass in escalation from the very beginning to the very end. The consistent tone, awkward comedy, saturated characters, and unique relatability. It's definitely from its time. The story, expectedly but unpredictably, gets worse and worse and worse, and somehow worse. Poor Focker... You can't help but feel for him. Top-notch casting, especially with Stiller. I thought the PG rating would do harm, but oddly enough, the film benefits from it. All that and Jinx, of course.

This movie gives me so much anxiety, there’s no way to enjoy it. It’s got some funny moments though, I’ll give it that.

Crying of laughter

This was a pretty funny movie. Ben stiller and Robert De Niro were so good in their roles. It’s a very chaotic movie and a times it felt off but still really good for a quick laugh. The plot is pretty good and will keep you invested.

Classic movie, really loved it.

A great rom-COM. De Niro and Stiller are hilarious. So many good one liners! The cringey awkward conversations reminds of The Office. The whole this person is an agent is a bit overdone in film, but it’s not a big focus. Greg can’t get anything right is so funny, love Owen Wilson

Classic. So good. I watch at least 1 time every 2 years. 8.1/10

Wasn’t for me but I think I get why people like it

7.8 - My kind of rom-com - taking 75% of the romance angle away & relying heavily on the comedy. It’s certainly a little cringey, but the cringe is intentional & mostly well executed. It does take a few bits a little further than necessary, but sticks the landing well enough.

A calamitous cataclysm of complicated circumstances and cringy cat-astrophes that fights to prove itself as one of the most rewarding Comedies of All-Time.

this was so painful to sit through 😫 just when i thought things couldn’t POSSIBLY be worse, IT GETS SO MUCH WORSE 😭

Not as funny as meet the parents
Also Robert De Niros character felt pretty sexist for a movie from the 2000s
Not sure how they got away with that (my mom had a total fit when I said that bc apparently “everything is sexist”)
Like duh???
When you live in a country that’s built it entire structure on treating women and POCs like second rate citizens that happens
you see it ingrained in everything
