Gary Cooper definitely shines more here than in Ball of Fire, he's great in both. Barbara, of course, shines in everything. A bit too long, but it rarely dragged had me invested. I did have the ending spoiled, so that tainted my experience a little, but it's still effective.

A very deep film that really surprises you. You start out watching a comedy and slowly start to become more connected and invested in the lives of the characters. It has jokes that’ll still make you life today. But by the end of the movie it will truly pull at your heart.

Classic journalist black and white template with a good message. Cooper and Stanwyck play well.
