8/10 Heartbreaking story of homophobia during the Edwardian era. Truly one of the most wonderfully portrayed mlm stories I have ever seen. I cried my eyes out more than once and screamed profanities at Clive’s sorry ass many times. I’m so happy that Maurice found love in the end!

I liked the first hour, but the second felt unnecessary. The movie is too long, and it’s monotonous, which makes it boring and kind of a torture to sit through. (But the actor of clive looks good)

So good. I saw quite a lot of people say that they liked Clive and didn’t like Alec. No! I got over Clive quickly honestly xd. I love Hugh Grand sm, I watched it for him and he portrayed it so well, but that character got controlling and I wished someone better for Maurice…

it made me lost in my thoughts for the rest of the day.
it was quite hard to see how people treated the lgbtq in the early 20th century((

That scene with Alec and Maurice...👌 The hypnosis scene had me tearing up. So glad Maurice and Alec found each other.

My fucking god! Obviously I loved it. There is no world in which a gorgeous gay movie with pretty people and great plot is not the perfect movie! Also, come on!!! Writer of cmbyn???! Yes! I need it injected into my bones. The start actual made me want to die but happy ending😔😛🫶

2/12/26: YESSSS!!! So fucking phenomenal, what a fantastic depiction of gay life in the face of consistent social adversity. The paths each character takes lead to such real-world parallels. Every gay individual needs to see this film!

ughhhh this was so good, I hate how Maurice didn’t end up with Clive, feel since he ended up with Alec they could have fleshed out the relationship more, I also wanted Clive to really crash out but he never did. Maurice so has a type. I feel bad for Anne as well.

Let’s be real, Alec was so much better for Maurice, Clive honestly frustrates me cus he was the one who initiated the relationship and then treated Maurice like trash. We ❤️ Alec.

And when you wake up next to her in the middle of the night,
with your head in your hands you’re nothin’ more than her hus-band
And when you think about me all of those years ago, you’re standing face to face with “I told you so”, you know I hate to say it but I told you so.

He was the eight friend he called. The eighth friend… At the beginning of the movie, I thought nothing could be better than Maurice and Clive. The way their gaze lingered on one another and the way they exposed their deepest inner thoughts to one another. But when Alec arrived and made that sacrifice for Maurice, it really showed what love was all about. Maurice was willing to sacrifice everything he had for love, but Clive left him. It was Alec who returned this feeling. The way Maurice wanted to change himself and his 'wrongful thinking' all for love. Because he wanted to be happy as Clive was without him. But you can never really change human nature. I am overjoyed Maurice managed a happy ending with someone well deserving. The music was absolutely beautiful. It really pulled the scenes together with its either intensity or soft lullabies.
