Let me say the graphics, acting, and EFX are great for this French horror. I could watch it again for sure and I really wanted to love it, but it gets a 7.8/10 due to the lack of clarity. I feel like there were 3 stories in 1 movie that all concluded in a very odd way.

a movie that I had to turn off and come back to. this movie was so sadistic and so gruesome that i had a hard time following the storyline. in terms of originality, 100% is great but there were so many horrible things happening that it made it hard to enjoy.

One of the most horrific horror movies I’ve ever watched. Don’t necessarily like it but it’s a good actual horror movie. Just will emotionally scar you

Maybe my favorite movie ever due to the themes and questions it raises. Truly effed up though and some frightening scenes. Watch if you want to think and be disturbed.

With Martyrs the horrifying imagery and gore are not the point or the source of entertainment ... It transcends the genre, and challenges the viewers to see beyond the horror. It is not an easy movie to watch, but it is valuable.

The overall plot (if there ever was one) was terrible, boring, messy, full of plot holes, confusing, all over the place, and pissed me off with how bad it was.
However, really liked the last 15 minutes & the "after death" concept, some of the religious hints, & the SFX too. 1.5/5

я никому не буду рекомендовать этот фильм… это пиздец… для очень впечатлительных людей просмотр вообще запрещен, или могут начаться проблемы после просмотра. наверное самое жуткое и ужасное что я видел за всю жизнь😶🤐

Words cannot describe how beautifully horrific this experience was. Tough at times to endure but it’s worth it.

I’m conflicted— didn’t love it, didn’t hate it, but I’m not totally sure I liked it? Oh well… Great VFX and visuals, and the first act is incredible! Yet partway through the movie I found myself repeatedly asking “what’s the point?”… but I think *that’s* the point, in a sense.

i'm gonna have to sit with this for a while.

3/5. good acting, ok storyline? i guess?, very good effects and clothes, whatever. i really disslike it, but it was good.

Umm. Seemed like it was going somewhere with deep thought and an interesting premise and then the important point turned out to be really stupid. Just hated the purpose and what it all was meant for. Meh.

The first half of this movie was perfect: steeped in unsubtle, yet very layered metaphors, you never knew where your next scare was coming from or what you were running from. But then the second half falls dramatically flat. Though necessary, feeling underdeveloped comparatively.

it was horrible and unfortunately too realistic. i recommend watching something more cheerful 🙏
