Funny for the time, should not be judged by todays standards anymore though. Even the director says he would not do jokes like these anymore today.

Even today this is a great and entertaining movie. It obviously shouldn't be held to today's standards and norms, but whoever decides to do that to a 20 year old movie just wants it to be bad anyways. There's a reason as to why this is the most successful German movie of all time
