Maniac Reviews

Not for the feint of heart. Absolutely brutally amazing remake that surpasses the original and makes you look at Frodo differently moving forward. Elijah needs to do more roles like this, and he’d be terrific in some sort of thriller with Daniel Radcliffe.

T-Flix’s 100 Horror Movie Challenge
Movie 13 of 100

Rating - 5.0 💀

This is the 13th of the 100 horror movies in my 100 horror movie challenge and I give this slasher point of view flick an average 5.0 💀.

A loner in Manhattan that collects mannequins is approached by a photographer. She adores his collection and wants to display them with her photos in an art gallery. What she is unaware of is he is that he soon becomes obsessed with her and unaware of the psycho he has become.

This movie I found to be weird in a way that it’s unique but not bold enough to make it good. Overall the movie is average and the acting is not that great. I know it’s a remake and have yet to see the original. I will soon be watching it only to compare the two but overall this is just an average movie to me but please watch it for yourself and let me know what you think.

Always a joy to be a woman 🤩

Style of shooting was cool, movie was a little weird tho

no plot. no point. just gross.

When you think of remakes it’s usually big IP ones and not a remake of an 80s exploitation movie. I haven’t seen the original, so I can’t say which is better, but this version provides an intimate psychological examination of serial killers and features an innovate POV style.

6/10

weird 🤣

disturbing

he was desperately trying to break away from type casting, and while I am not sure hoe successful that was this was a thoroughly enjoyable film.

Fucking hell

6/10 the first person pov was really cool. And Frodo really took a turn

never seen a movie in a first persons style. made it feel like a video game. AVE MARIA in a movie makes it amazing. it was honestly scary to see everything from his perspective and the ending was a lot

Didn’t really do it for me. Was kinda corny and just overall ok. Didn’t hate it but didn’t like it

I really enjoyed this one. Elijah is surprisingly convincing as a serial killer.

preeeetty cool

wtf

Not only is the first person point of view quite interesting, this is probably the first psychology slasher to make me quite creeped out and feel like I’m on the edge of my seat. Bold move by the directors of the film and with good payoff.

Not like you’ve ever seen Elijah Wood before. Gory, creepy, slashery good!

The greatest Synth horror soundtrack predating Stranger Things and It Follows by a few years!
