Manchester by the Sea

Tough movie, real life shit a lot of other movies stay away from.

Extremely overrated. Yes the acting was good, the portrayal of grief and loss, and not being able to move on was really good, but apart from that what else was there. No action, extremely slow dialogue and plot. Just a very dull movie. Only scene I liked was the police scene.

Bro I really just shed a tear watching this. I’m hungover af which made this movie even more depressing but the story telling in it was so good. Casey Affleck was was amazing.

I think it was overhyped to the point where I don’t think it landed for me the way it was supposed to…. Unfortunately 😔

Really likeable characters despite the somber tone of the film. As a guy, I related to the limited emotional range on the surface between the Uncle and adopted son when really it’s just harder to express yourself, especially in a time of grief and loss
