Not what I thought it was going to be. But it was interesting!

Insightful look into another mismanaged musician’s life. Dano is spectacular as usual. Banks was breath of fresh air. Giamatti is a bad man.

Was not what i was expecting….

A beautiful film about the life a a truly tortured and abused artist. You’ll always be a legend, Brian Wilson!

8/10 solid film biophic

This was a fantastic story about Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys. There are two separate plots, the making of Pet Sounds and Brian’s battle with his micromanaging therapist, and both plots fit together well, despite being 20 years apart.
The filming was very unique and special during this movie, at times it felt intimate, like you were watching a private conversation and you could feel that. The music was obviously amazing, but also mixed extremely well.
While Paul Dano and John Cusack were both fantastic as Brian Wilson, the standout for me was surprisingly the small role of Mike Love, played by Jake Abel, who knocked it out of the park as Brian’s cousin and fellow Beach Boy. Elizabeth Banks also gave a stellar performance.
Overall, this is one of my favorite music biopics to date, it’s definitely the most interesting story, but also filmed well, and written well. I’d give it a solid 8.5/10

I have always looooved The Beach Boys and it was so wonderful to get a glimpse into the marvel that is Brian Wilson, while also frustrating and haunting to know what his genius brought him to at times.

Big beach boys guy myself. Loved the movie, left a couple tears in my eyes. Brian’s a genius
