Longlegs

Nicholas cage didn’t need to have that makeup on for it to be a horror hes ugly enough

I should’ve went to see Despicable Me 4 instead

Please, for the love of God, DO NOT WATCH THIS FILM. Ignore every single good review - I’m convinced they’re all completely fake, or are actually reviews for other films. This is THE WORST film I have ever seen in my life. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Nicholas cage gives a Nicholas cage performance

8.1 - rewatched & slightly dropped. Definitely one to just let the vibes take over and not analyze too much because the plot can start to unravel a bit. Still a fun time though.

8.5 - What a weird experience. It’s both overstuffed & well realized. It somehow mixes a serial killer crime mystery thriller, with occult & possession references, creepy dolls, psychic & supernatural abilities, a creepy nun story, inherited family traumas, & mental stability questions…& mostly pulls it off.

Instead of fizzling by never meeting its own expectations after building up the monster, it shows you the scary part right out of the gate & that impending dread never quite leaves.
Then the conclusion both solves too much of its own mystery and leaves just enough ambiguity for it to sit with you well after you finish watching.
Maika Monroe gives her best performance yet. Nic Cage is completely unhinged. Alicia Witt is a wonderfully creepy support. The score & cinematography capture the vibes of a 90s psych or crime thriller perfectly, & leave your stomach in knots for most of the runtime. But it still didn’t fully live up to the hype. I don’t think it’s the essential horror of the decade dripping with evil in every frame that some described, but I am anxious to watch it again, piece more together, & get a new view on it.

I usually don’t watch trailers, because anymore they spoil the whole movie.

Maybe I should’ve watched them for this one. Didn’t realize the plot was different from what I THOUGHT it’d be.

Felt like Nicolas Cage wanted to act like a freak, so they built a movie around that and only that.

overhyped and pretentious

I’m sorry because I’m gonna get hate for MY OPINION. But I didn’t liked Lee.. her character was just not it, it made me feel like she was a theater kid who wanted to prove how smart she is, the way she speaks is making me laugh/cringe. Nicholas on the other side was amazing >

Almost used my long legs to leave the theater. High hopes missed the mark🦵

Super predictable and the the religious/paranormal tie in has been beaten to death by almost every new horror movie but the actors nailed their roles and I loved the filming aesthetic they went for

I’d watch it again even though I wish everything after longlegs died just happened differently and had no religious or paranormal connection — the zodiac aspect could have been a driving force for a better ending however it had no real purpose for the way they actually went, it almost feels like they wanted to make a different movie towards the end of filming

It could have been something fantastic if they had just tried something new and kept with what was established in the first chunk of the movie

I still rock with this though

I don’t know what to say. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either. I don’t understand the title and what it has to do with the movie. I definitely didn’t understand the end. It felt like Silence of the Lambs but this isn’t better. I was not scared nor terrified and I scare easily.

Fantastic movie! Plot will not redefine the genre and I do feel that the critics are doing the movie a disservice by calling it “the next silence of the lambs,” but the performances by Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage were amazing. The cinematography is super atmospheric and creepy.

Nick Cage you are one spooky long legged man. Cinematography, Eeriness, sound score, all were incredible. Storyline leaves some unanswered questions and plot holes but that’s always okay to leave room for interpretation. All I gotta say is I’m thankful Jesus is on my team 8.0/10

Very disturbing and suspenseful

Comparing this movie to Silence of the Lambs is absolutely ridiculous. The only thing even close to Silence of the Lambs was the eery creepiness. Soooooo many plot holes. Nicholas Cages performance was amazing and the Longlegs character has unlimited potential. But it was wasted.

2y

Although nic cage looked the best he has ever looked, I was disappointed with how it went from a serial killer who done it to weird doll satanic shit. Ending ruined it. Wish Nic Cage took his shirt off

1y

Unbelievable how overhyped this film was. The teasers that were put out before anyone knew they were promotions for a movie were way better/creepier than this “horror” film though it barely deserves to be in this genre as it’s not scary at all… more gory… strange acting and plot📸

A bit dragged out and also didn’t understand the snake reference what was it supposed to mean…

LongLegs is a complicated horror movie as it posses a very hard thing which is that I didn’t see what was coming next which is very rare considering how many I’ve seen. The first act is mid, the second is boring, the third is incredible. It’s a great time and worth the go. 8.9/10

a true love story……
