i have a weird take on this film. before saying anything, i want the say i thought the book was good and im going to explain why: the book was in no way intended to romanticize pedophilia, twisted fantasies, or anything else that the content was centered around. comments -> (1/?)

i litterly cant get through this movie its so upsetting

Heartbreaking story :( but great movie, can be hard to watch at times

How do you even review this?

This film made me so uncomfortable and feel so sick - and it should. It’s about a man who sick and vile that takes advantage of a child. To me, it feels like Kubrick attempts to romanticize this story, and that makes me feel sick, but ultimately the film is a cautionary tale.

5/10, one of the weakest Kubrick’s movie.
Normal acting and plot. Hate the fact of pedophilia, but I think it is not important in the
MOVIE (not in the novel)
2 main thoughts:
1. Movies like this force to begin thinking about sexual obssesians (big minus of the film)

I hate stanley kubrick I’m glad he’s dead so I’m not giving him any money. Should I read the book hm idk I like the song tho

Depressing movie. Sad to see that this film, the book and the other adaptation are constantly being romanticized.

For obvious reasons

definitely icky but I think we can, understandably, be blinded by disgust when these topics come up. It covers some importnt topics that can help us understand these disturbing relationships. its always better to have these discussions then not even if they are uncomfortable.

Es buena y a pesar de la censura que debía tener en la época se logra notar esas asquerosas ideas y relación de Humbert con Lolita, pero al no ser detallada tampoco se enfatiza que Lolita es una víctima, ya que se ve casi como una relación "normal" entre padrastro e hijastra.

I thought it was going to be non stop horrible pedo stuff but luckily it wasn't. Interesting movie but not anything special imo

que pelicula mas lenta por dios, no podia esperar al momento que acabara de lo ultra aburrida y latera que es. gracias lolita por terminar y acabar con mi sufrimiento.
