cute and charming french animated film with some powerful messages and themes on race, war, and existence. i thought the animation style was unique and oftentimes beautiful, with some strong writing and voice acting. should not be overlooked

I do not know much about Amelie Nothomb but nonetheless this was very heartwarming story. I absolutely loved the art direction for this film it felt very unique to anything I have ever seen and the soundtrack had some great hits as well.

high like? wouldnt rewatch but it’s pretty good. animations not really my thing, especially this style, but I did like a lot about this.

This is truly a perfect film. It’s so visually stunning and such a beautiful story. I really loved the voice acting in the original French. There are times where I’m not sure what’s real and what’s metaphor, but I really didn’t care. This made me feel so much and honestly gave me so much hope and appreciation for life. It’s really a masterpiece on all fronts with the animation, writing, voice acting. I loved it.

Perhaps those who love animation and want to experience a different technique might enjoy it, or even philosophers who literally enjoy metaphysical themes. Oh, the "Secrets of the Rain" mentioned in the Mexican title remained a secret—I don't think it even rains in the movie.
