So Far So Good, So Far So Good.
I’m at a loss for words I genuinely have never had a movie go from like a solid 9 to a full blown 10 in literally a matter of seconds, it went from yeah this is good but I’m wondering where it’s gonna go idk where it can go from here-sit down and shut the fuck up.
What can I say, it’s the most well paced, it’s amazingly acted, it’s plot is like poetry in motion, the direction could not have been any better, the acting was near perfect, my literal only con is that no one is likeable but then again, I don’t think you’re supposed to like them, except maybe Hubert.
Not gonna spoil it, but the ending is genuinely one of, if not the greatest endings I’ve ever seen, for me personally it rivals that of 12 Angry Men or if I’m being really honest, Your Name.
Plot 10/10 (French assholes do shit for an hour and a half and somehow it’s entertaining)
Soundtrack/Score 9.7/10 (that one French song, idk but it’s like mooooooeeee, rena rena.)
Cinematography 10/10 (my god the Paris view was just immaculate, and every other shot is so fucking beautiful it’s not even funny)
Character Development 9/10 (Vinz developed especially near the end, but he was still a bit of an asshole)
Writing 11/10 (So Far So Good, So Far So Good.)
Ending 11/10 (I’m not explaining this again)
Direction 10/10 (couldn’t have been done better in any way shape or form)
Overall 10/10
Belongs rightfully in my top 4

Easiest 10/10 of my life, this film is impeccably well structured with every little detail having significance at some point. 10/10

Easy 10/10. This movie was great! I’ve never seen a movie quite like it. There’s nothing negative about it that I can think of at all. The acting, the camera shots, the editing, all fantastic. Really makes you understand the conflict between the civilians and the police.

İ love that unlike most “very artistic” movies the ending tied everything together and it had a more complete script

Honestly it is my favourite film. When you really look into the context and way it was made you see how much thought went into its creation. kassovitz shows the brutality of the banlieues and how the inequalities in france causes riots. this film is as relevant now as it was then

from the revelatory opening to the explosive ending, a masterpiece that never lets up for a second, pushing relentlessly to tell its story through incredible camera work and perfect performances. a philosophical thrill ride rooted in its beaten down characters; awe-inspiring

I really enjoyed this movie, the story was impactful and extremely well done, the acting was great, but what stood out was the tremendous cinematography that used some extremely crazy shots to stand out in the best way possible.
Overall an extremely well done movie, a solid 9/10

I think the meaning of this movie is really good and the execution is really good, but there’s just something I don’t connect with about this movie. I think the characters were very real and fleshed out but I didn’t exactly care about them. Overall, this is a good movie.

A powerful, raw and uncompromising look at violence and how “hate breeds hate”. This is an incredible film, from the directing to the cinematography to the performances. Without any hesitation I can say this is one of the best films made. This isn’t a film I’ll forget.

Gritty, dark, beautiful cinema. You will find shots in this film that you won't find in most others, each shot perfectly encapsulates each characters feelings, the paranoia and bloodthirst in this group of characters leaves you on edge with the ticking of the day. Must watch holy
