Kong: Skull Island

There's so much good about this, as well as bad. I loved the visuals of absolutely everything. I can never understand how these movies are real. The sound and violence pierces right through you. The cinematography and editing was beautiful, stunning shot after shot. My problem is with the casting and character work. The amount of times I got annoyed at genericness and point blank clichés is ridiculous. I wish we had more of a Kong point of view, rather than 9 different storylines that make less sense than kong. The score was annoying, too. It could have been epic, but it just felt meh.

The characters are so stupid. The story is so stupid. You don’t care about any one of the characters because they all make stupid decisions. What were they thinking when they wrote this crap?!

A bold, colorful monster movie with a strong aesthetic identity. The Vietnam-war-inspired setting is striking, Kong is powerful and expressive, & creature designs for these Skullcrawlers is impress.

Good like when I was younger couldn’t watch it I was terrified but now rewatched it and it’s well made
