I admit that I’ve watched this just because of the meme with king Baldwin IV. (I am him ✋🏻)
Not a movie genre I normally watch but I really like this movie. Loved the dialogues, fights, building tension.
Please watch director’s cut (I know it’s 3 hours long and u got ADHD).

It is a pretty good movie, but it is 3 hours long. They did almost everything right, but I wish they made it a little faster pacing. The MC is okay but I find King Baldwin and Saladin more interesting than the MC. My rating for it is 7.4/10.

One of the most detailed movies I’ve ever seen, did Monty python kill this genre? Need more of these. Prime bloom. Color at times felt off with some CGI but not bad for the time. Awesome costume and design

Directors Cut

I thought this was incredible. However I do agree that Orlando Blooms, Balian was one of the lesser interesting characters even though he is the MC in this film. Would have liked to see more of Saladin and KBiv, but it is what it is. I would definitely recommend watching the directors cut. Even though it’s 3 hours long it doesn’t make any part of the film feel drug out; honestly I feel like I need more.

I can also see what others are saying about some of the production mistakes like the 7 or so catapults launching 50 in one sweep. But in the moment it’s not something that caught my eye, I feel like that’s just being nitpicky.

However, I did really enjoy the pacing as well as the overall story. Going into this without much knowledge of the Crusades and that period of time in general doesn’t take away from the film. They do a great job of keeping you informed throughout without needing that prior knowledge.

Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes big production Ridley Scott films, and I can’t believe it took me this long to watch this.

Such an incredible epic. Beautifully shot and cinematography you just don’t see anymore. It was 3 hours long but didn’t even feel like it. Although it was fiction, i love how it shows the struggles and conflicts of that era and the crusades. Great acting from everyone too
