Fun from start to finish. Some lol moments and some good action. Didn’t quit have the punch (see what I did there?) to be a great film. Definitely worth the watch though. Ben Wang has insane potential and could become the next Jackie Chan.

Pretty more entertaining than I thought it will be. It isn’t solely based on karate. The plot is pretty predictable and there is no real emotional depth with the characters, but the cast is amazing and the cinematography is too. It’s entertaining to pass the time.

Is it karate kid without the score..? It felt rushed, crammed in too many pieces to the storyline sacrificing character development and the rivalry. Was ok, had moment of nostalgia, 5.5/10.

i usually adore karate kid movies and after cobra kai i was really excited to feel close to this movie. like i was screaming at how excited i was but now watching it. i feel like things were very rushed and think that the pacing is a little all over the place.

none of the returning characters were like themselves & we barely saw the teaching of mr miyagi or mr han. daniel had no real reason to be there either. devastating.

This was so good. Way better than most legacy movies. It had such a good plot, unique to the first one. All the characters were good, the romance was good, the soundtrack was good. I liked how stylized it was, and that it tied in some boxing too. Just amazing overall

wait this was so good but it also made me realize that jaden smith karate is actually the perfect fucking movie.

this made me realize how rushed recent movies feel but black karate kid has the perfect pacing, cinematography, cultural background, it’s all around fucking perfect.

I really like this movie - the only thing I wish they did was have the bad guy fight. He was talking trash the whole movie - had goons come to fight the owner but didn’t fight?! Even with him being a fighter and the clear villain? Also the kid that was the bad guy, was lame in my eyes. Johnny Lawerence has a way better ark because we saw the guy filet humiliated and had a bunch of back story - this kid was mad because his ex was talking to a new kid? Lame. Give us more of a reason as to why this kid was a piece of shit why he was mad all the damn time and connect him to the gang that he was clearly in. I just wish there was more of a back story to make us understand their conflicts. Kobra Kia does a great job of this with seeing characters out in conflict and having consequences. 7/10

6/10 above expectations, enjoyed the energy and the combination of both past and present. Well casted, Also liked the story. Recommend

An enjoyable Family Action movie that fumbles its footing to enter into a Legacy Sequel that has 2 students, 2 wildly branching storylines, and 2 (or 3) senseis.

Because of this and some hyper editing, it may feel like a dragon kick to the face for fans…

It’s not as bad as people make it out to be. It has a good pace, and the cinematography is spectacular. It’s entertaining, though not the best.

The story is repetitive: a new kid moves to town, meets a girl he likes, but her ex is a jerk who also happens to be the best karate fighter around. Li trains with two great masters (Han and Daniel LaRusso), leaves his past traumas behind, receives support from his mother even though she doesn’t fully agree with his decision, and ultimately wins the final tournament.
