8.2/10 what I say…I’m a sucker for real stories and up to date stories at the end. This movie’s so well made. Foxx and MBJ are great per usual. Really hits you hard when you realize this was literally 1990s. Not long ago at all, systematic prejudice still needs some work today

Not as good as the book but still a good adaptation in its own right (+I don’t think it’s trying to be bc the book is so detailed with so many unique stories intertwined and I don’t think that would’ve worked as well on film)+ its a bit more heavy handed but the themes still work

The themes of this movie were very powerful and I found them to be very interesting and compelling, however from a critical standpoint I felt like the plot was boring and i felt uninterested through most of this

Very insightful

didn’t really care as much because the falsely accused guy was still a degenerate cheater and was kind of misogynistic. i agree that he shouldn’t be imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit but i was indifferent because he’s not the easiest guy to root for.
